The Prince of the Pagodas Review

Last week BRB graced the Lyric Theatre Stage with their stunning new production The Prince of the Pagodas. Here is what Dance Ambassador Ellie Wares thought of the show.

This is a fabulous performance to watch for many reasons.  The choreography is magical, and the dancers (from the royals to the seahorses, deep sea creatures and the little salamander) were breathtaking to watch.

The stylish sets  by Rae Smith (who  designed the set for War Horse) were incredible  and eye catching, and I loved the huge flowers round the stage.  The costumes were really stunning to look at and very imaginative, with fabulous sea creatures and dancers wearing beautiful Japanese kimonos.

The orchestra were fantastic and the dancers moved seamlessly to the music, changing pace effortlessly.

This is a stunning piece of ballet, and I would certainly recommend it.
